“And we talked about the strength of dreams”

“Song of Seven” was the title track from Jon Anderson’s 2nd solo album, released in November 1980 on Atlantic Records.

This album was was very special for me back in my college days. I used to play it very frequently in-store at Record Town back when it was released in 1980. This song in particular is has always been a favorite for me. As a huge Yes fan, I still think the song as a whole stands with some of their best work…..and I’d go even further by stating the section beginning at 3:50 stands equal to anything the band ever did…it’s extraordinarily beautiful. I used to play this section over and over and I still think it’s one of the most gorgeous pieces of music I’ve ever heard.

I came across a short video maybe a year ago from 2004 called “Demon” from director Irina Evteeva and knew immediately I’d want to use it in a video. But first the video resolution was pretty poor and wouldn’t look too good even in it’s original resolution (not to mention trying to spread it out to 1080p)….and second, exactly which song should I use it in? I worked out the first by processing the video through After Effects with various tools and effects. I was very surprised that I was actually able to achieve such great results….I think it was the style of the original video that allowed me to improve it so much, but it definitely looks great now! (Seems a waste not to use the effort to show the film in it’s full edit…there is no dialog and the soundtrack is basically some piano and classical arrangements….not nearly as impressive as the video. I may end up sharing it later.) Choosing which song to edit it to took me even more time; I wanted to use it on a big popular tune as it had such a stylish and special look and I wanted it to be seen. I tried it to several epic songs (one in particular it worked pretty well with, I’ll maybe drop that edit later)….I kept coming back to “Song of Seven” because i liked how it worked….knowing that such an obscure tune wouldn’t get the views, but who knows, maybe the video edit will give both the song and the film more exposure and appreciation? Enjoy. Thanks!

Song of Seven was released during Anderson’s first hiatus from Yes and supported by his first solo tour. “Some Are Born”, “Days”, “Everybody Loves You” and “Hear It” were originally written and demoed during the Tormato sessions. The “Some Are Born” and “Days” demo versions from these sessions were included as bonus tracks on the 2004 CD reissue of Tormato.

[Lyrics]
In the meeting place I sit beside, betwixt the points of heaven
I befell a friendly atmosphere revolving around seven
Oh, that number mystified my soul and captured within feelings
Those of doubt and understanding, hand in hand they set me reeling

Met me a stranger, he came here to town
Bearing gifts full of promises, discoveries of light
Said me many reasons why my merry tale
Could be justified and just both together entwined

I tell you a reason, he said, “Bless you, you fool, you fool”
You want “so belief,” yet you want so much more,” you seeker
Now I see you’re baffled, yet again you administer fear
Of the unexpected, you don’t know the score

Everywhere you look you release parts of your senses
And everywhere there’s purpose in answer to all your dreams
I can hear you saying what a dreamer, what a fool to life
Isn’t it a pity that he won’t come back to earth

Haven’t you imagination, and is it not available
How you can be sooner or later than your thinking
Haven’t you imagination and is it so impossible
That you ask of everything so your eyes can see clearly

So in an instant your story bound
A desert, the underground, on mountains high
A glacier, the heat of the day

City jungle, the sky at night
In space on a starry night
An atmosphere impossible
So you never really care

So we talk about the strength of dreams
And we talked at length of every dream
And we talked about the strength of dreams
And we talked about the strength of dreaming

In the meeting place I sit beside, betwixt the points of heaven
I befell a friendly atmosphere revolving around seven
Oh, that number mystified my soul and captured within feelings
Those of doubt and understanding, hand to hand they set me reeling

In the seventh dream to stand alone
But not without the strength of love
To guide our way, everyday

Oh, the seventh dream, your smile can bring
Love on and on and time will flow forever clear
The seventh dream standing so near
And very soon we’ll walk with love
Love that I can sing to you, you, you

Is it this time of day that makes me realise
The sun is coming out to shine again tomorrow, tomorrow
Is it this time of day that gives you hope

Is it this time of times that comes between the light
Are there so many dreamers in this life between a moment’s time
And the stairways of love, the starlight, the starlight
Telling me that there’s something else to cling on to, cling on to

As life goes drifting by Like a breeze she’ll gently sigh

For My Lady – The Moody Blues (1972) 192khz/24bit FLAC 4K Video

“For My Lady” was the third track on the 1st side of The Moody Blues’ eighth studio album, Seventh Sojourn, which was released in October 1972. This is one of my favorite tracks from the fantastic Seventh Sojourn album.

This video was one of those start and finish in one setting efforts. Although I had a video version started years ago, so long ago that I couldn’t remember what was going on it , so I just grabbed a few of the first images and video clips that I thought might fit….some of the choices would be easy to marginally improve, but I was determined to make what I had work. I hope you enjoy the deelio! Thanks for checking it out!

The opening track, Mike Pinder’s “Lost in a Lost World” laments the brutality of revolution and references racial tension. Several songs contain overt political references. “You and Me,” like “Question” from two years earlier, alludes to ongoing wars and conflicts, including Vietnam. However, although the album showcases political concerns, in the 1990 documentary The Moody Blues: Legend of a Band, bassist John Lodge described “I’m Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)” as a response to fans who mistakenly read guru-like wisdom into the Moodies’ lyrics. Instrumentally, singer/keyboardist Mike Pinder, in addition to the Mellotron, used a similar keyboard device called the Chamberlin.

eventh Sojourn reached #5 in the United Kingdom, and became the band’s first American chart topper, spending five weeks at #1 to close out 1972.

Two hit singles came from this album: “Isn’t Life Strange” (#13 UK, #29 US) and “I’m Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)” (#36 UK, #12 US). However, both songs were overshadowed by the re-release of “Nights in White Satin,” which had been first released in 1967. Whereas both singles from Seventh Sojourn made the top 40, “Nights In White Satin” bested both, hitting #9 in the UK and #2 in the United States and gaining the highest American chart position for a Moody Blues single.

As this album proved difficult to record, with a 1973 follow-up quickly shelved after inception, the group decided to go on hiatus after their tour of Asia in 1974 (Mike Pinder’s last tour with the group), before reuniting in 1977 for Octave (1978) and its subsequent tour, albeit without Pinder.

In April 2007 the album was remastered into SACD format and repackaged with four extra tracks. “Island”, the fourth bonus track, was recorded in 1973 and is an incomplete recording of one of the songs that were intended to be released on the aforementioned follow-up record.

In 2008 a remaster for standard audio CD was issued with the same bonus tracks.

My boat sails stormy seas
Battles oceans filled with tears
At last my port’s in view
Now that I’ve discovered you
Oh I’d give my life so lightly
For my gentle lady
Give it freely and completely
To my lady
As life goes drifting by
Like a breeze she’ll gently sigh
And slowly bow her head
Then you’ll hear her softly cry.
Oh I’d give my life so lightly
For my gentle lady
Give it freely and completely
To my lady
Words that you say when we’re alone
Though actions speak louder than words
But all I can say is I love you so
To drive away all my hurt
Oh I’d give my life so lightly
For my gentle lady
Give it freely and completely
To my lady
Set sail before the sun
Feel the warmth that’s just begun
Share each and every dream
They belong to everyone.
Oh I’d give my life so lightly
For my gentle lady
Give it freely and completely
To my lady

Dust In The Wind – Kansas (1977)

Dust In The Wind – Kansas (1977) FLAC Audio 1080p Video ~MetalGuruMessiah~

With at least 200 billion galaxies out there (and possibly even more), we’re very likely talking about a Universe filled with around 10 to the 24th planets, or, for those of you who like it written out, around 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets in our observable Universe.
I want to send my regards to everyone sharing this amazing one with me. All we are is dust in the wind…..love and spirit are the only thing that cannot be blown away. Peace, love n happiness y’all!

“Dust in the Wind” was released on Kansas’ fifth studio album, Point of Know Return, in October 1977. The track was hugely popular from the moment it was released, and rightfully so I believe as it is an outstanding melody with simple yet profound lyrics. Was hoping to get something for the New Year, and this seemed a good choice…not the fireworks I was thinking about, but a more reflective piece for starting the new year. Wishing you all a great 2018 and beyond!

This vid features FLAC audio from the Austria/Holland original CD release (which is less compressed than other CD versions….only slightly less than the original vinyl!)….once again, I’ve only barely nudged the equalizer to get what sounds best (IMO). Thanks for listening/watching/commenting/up-voting/adding to playlists/sharing…appreciate the support.

Think about giving a listen to another great Kansas track that always seemed to me kinda a continuation of this one. Where “Dust in the Wind” was about the earthly experience; “Ghosts” continued with the move into the spiritual experience; “Ghosts” from Kansas’ In The Spirit of Things album from 1988: https://youtu.be/pcbqPUOrdPI

My first video from Point of Know Return was “Portrait (He Knew)”…another fav Kansas tune, thinking I might push out an update for it soon: https://youtu.be/KwQJaBGc9Dk

From Wiki:
Singer/songwriter Steve Walsh left the group briefly. He would admit that, at this point, he had been something of a prima donna in an interview with nationally syndicated radio host Redbeard on the weekly rockumentary series In the Studio with Redbeard.

The album is critically acclaimed for singles like “Point of Know Return”. “Point of Know Return” was a later addition to the album. “Portrait (He Knew)” was written about Albert Einstein. In 1988, Livgren released an updated version of “Portrait (He Knew)” titled “Portrait II” as part of the album Prime Mover credited to his band AD. He changed the subject of the song from Einstein to Jesus Christ. “Closet Chronicles” is a Howard Hughes allegory.

“Dust in the Wind” is known for its sparse acoustic nature. The guitar line for the song was written by Kerry Livgren as a finger exercise for learning fingerpicking. His wife, Vicci, heard what he was doing, remarked that the melody was nice, and encouraged him to write lyrics for it. Livgren was unsure whether his fellow band members would like it, since it was a departure from their signature style. However he did offer it to them, and the song was accepted and then recorded.

Rolling Stone gave the album a mixed review, saying that though the transition to shorter songs generally works, the lyrics are “a wan and ridiculous rehash of the bargain-basement exoticism employed by the British art-rock crowd.” They commented that though the band lacks a virtuoso soloist, the band’s ensemble playing is strong and purposeful.

Point of Know Return would be Kansas’ highest charting album in the US, peaking at #4 in January 1978, and would sell four million copies in the US and be certified Quadruple Platinum by the RIAA.

During a debate of greatest “Song 1 Side 1” in history among the lead characters in the movie High Fidelity, Jack Black’s character criticizes one of John Cusack’s character’s proposals as “too obvious, like ‘Point of Know Return'”. The album cover has become an iconic image from the album rock era, appearing on the background of the set of VH1 Classic, on tee shirts worn by characters in movies and on TV, and in other places.

[Verse 1]
I close my eyes, only for a moment
And the moment’s gone
All my dreams pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind

[Verse 2]
Same old song, just a drop of water
In an endless sea
All we do crumbles to the ground
Though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind

[Bridge]
Oh, ho, ho

[Instrumental Break]

[Verse 3]
Now, don’t hang on, nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away, and all your money won’t another minute buy
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind

[Outro]
All we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind
Everything is dust in the wind
Everything is dust in the wind
The wind

Mad Man Moon – Genesis (1976) SACD Remaster FLAC 1080p Video ~MetalGuruMessiah~

“Mad Man Moon” was released on Genesis’ seventh studio album, A Trick of the Tail, in February 1976. Hadn’t done any Genesis in a while, but happy to get around to finishing another old project from one of the albums from my favorite Genesis era. To my longtime friends; thanks for sticking around…and to new viewers of my channel…thanks for watching! 🙂

A Trick of the Tail was the first album to feature drummer Phil Collins as lead vocalist, following Peter Gabriel’s departure.

A Trick of the Tail reached No.3 in the UK, remaining on the charts for 39 weeks, and No.31 in the US. Additionally, the album was certified Gold in the US by the RIAA in March 1990. Also according to Tony Banks in the essay that comes with Platinum Collection, the album doubled the band’s previous albums sales. This success was also financially crucial for Genesis who were $400,000 in debt by the time Peter Gabriel left.

This is the eighth video I’ve made for a Genesis song (and the third for a track from A Trick of the Tail..see “Ripples” https://youtu.be/iS6jt0ATanE & “Entangled” https://youtu.be/bqxEoPVEOOE. This video also features FLAC audio sourced from the 2007 SACD, absolutely the best way to hear this album …..other video links below lyrics.

Hope you enjoy the effort!

As usual HUGE THANKS to everyone who’s art made this new art possible…THANK YOU!!!!!

[Lyrics]
Was it summer when the river ran dry,
Or was it just another dam.
When the evil of a snowflake in June
Could still be a source of relief.
O how I love you, I once cried long ago,
But I was the one who decided to go.
To search beyond the final crest,
Though I’d heard it said just birds could dwell so high.

So I pretended to have wings for my arms
And took off in the air.
I flew to places which the clouds never see,
Too close to the deserts of sand,
Where a thousand mirages, the shepherds of lies
Forced me to land and take a disguise.
I would welcome a horse’s kick to send me back
If I could find a horse not made of sand.

If this desert’s all there’ll ever be
Then tell me what becomes of me.
A fall of rain?
That must have been another of your dreams,
A dream of mad man moon.

Hey man,
I’m the sand man.
And boy have I news for you;
They’re gonna throw you in gaol
And you know they can’t fail
’cause sand is thicker than blood.
But a prison in sand
Is a haven in hell,
For a gaol can give you a goal
[and a] goal can find you a role
On a muddy pitch in Newcastle,
Where it rains so much
You can’t wait for a touch
Of sun and sand, sun and sand…

Within the valley of shadowless death
They pray for thunderclouds and rain,
But to the multitude who stand in the rain
Heaven is where the sun shines.
The grass will be greener till the stems turn to brown
And thoughts will fly higher till the earth brings them down.
Forever caught in desert lands one has to learn
To disbelieve the sea.

If this desert’s all there’ll ever be
Then tell me what becomes of me.
A fall of rain?
That must have been another of your dreams,
A dream of mad man moon.

“You guys are crazy!” See you Down The Dolce Vita!

Down The Dolce Vita – Peter Gabriel (1977) 24-96 FLAC Audio HD 1080p Video ~MetalGuruMessiah~

“Down The Dolce Vita” was released on February 25th 1977 on Peter Gabriel’s first solo album, Peter Gabriel (the first of four with the same eponymous title…most fans refer to the album as Peter Gabriel “Car”.)

Peter Gabriel’s first two solo records (“Car” in 1977 and “Scratch” in 1978) were very popular with me when I was attending high school during the ’77-’78 period when they were released, and his third and fourth (“Melt” in 1980 and “Security” in 1982) when I was attending college in the ’80-’82 period. Although I’ve started a few videos for songs from his first two albums, this is the first Peter Gabriel video I’ve uploaded. I thought one of the ones I’d already started would be finished first, however this one jumped in front of them when I came across the old video with the throbbing/pulsing effect (from Oskar Fischinger’s 1927 short “Berlin Wandering”) and immediately thought of “Down The Dolce Vita”. The video was finished very quickly, and although it could certainly benefit from some fine tuning, I was actually satisfied with the result of the first (and only!) render enough to go ahead and upload it. I hope you enjoy the effort!

The album was produced by Bob Ezrin. Gabriel and Ezrin assembled a team of musicians, including King Crimson main-man Robert Fripp, to record the album. Upon the album’s release, Gabriel began touring with a seven-piece band under his own name.

The photo on the cover is of Peter Gabriel sitting in the front passenger seat of a Lancia Flavia, owned by Storm Thorgerson, co-founder of Hipgnosis and the cover’s designer. For the shoot, which took place in Wandsworth, the car was sprayed with a water hose. The black-and-white image was then hand-coloured and reflections modified by artist Richard Manning using a scalpel.

An alternate proposal was to feature a photograph of Peter Gabriel wearing contact lenses intended to give his eyes the appearance of metallic ball bearings, but it was never produced.

Nick Kent, writing in the NME in 1978, described the album as “a fine record with at least one 24-carat irresistible classic in “Solsbury Hill” and a strong supporting cast of material that, all in all, in a year besmeared with great albums was, in retrospect, sorely underrated.”

[Lyrics]
“Hey Mac, see you down the Dolce Vita!
“Get back, we don’t have time
‘Cos I hear we’re sending off the heroes
When the yera goes, (they’re) out of the bay,
Trying to find a way
to make it alive”

“So long,” said four men to their families
“Be strong till we get back home
And if not, take care of all the children
Until then just hope and pray
We’re gonna find a way
to make it alive”

“You guys are crazy!”

They shout and then we leave the harbour.
In doubt, they’re acting weird
And the sea is whipping up a welcome
If hell come we’re all easy prey,
Trying to find a way
to make it alive”

“You guys are crazy!”

The captain’s hand shook for
the guys to get in place
He said, “Let’s look behind your face”.
With each corner covered, they were all around
Waiting for the midnight bell to sound.

“Out of sight,” cried Aeron through his glasses
“Don’t fight” said Gorham’s smile

All the while, his hand was on my shoulder
I was scared of being an easy prey,

Trying to find a way
to make it alive”

(I won’t be easy prey trying to find a way to make it alive.)

“When you’re gone I never land In Neverland”

Neverland – Marillion (2004) HQ FLAC HD 1080p Video ~MetalGuruMessiah~

“Neverland” was released on Marillion’s 13th studio album, Marbles, in the spring of 2004.

Marillion is one of my favorite bands that I’ve done the least videos for…this is only my second (after “Don’t Hurt Yourself”…also from the Marbles album) effort and hopefully I’ll get my third one finished soon enough. Marbles is my favorite album by the band and if you’re not already a fan, it deserves your attention….the Floyd influence is strong with this one! 🙂

Hopefully the video will find a few new fans for both Marillion and P.J. Hogan’s incredibly beautiful, fantastic film Peter Pan from 2003. If you haven’t yet seen it, trust me, it’s worth a buy on blu-ray because it’s really that amazing and has great repeat value….if not at least give it a rent and and watch it with your family!

Dedicated to my newest, littlest family member beautiful Eve Lynn Mae.

[Lyrics]
When the darkness takes me over
Face down, emptier than zero
Invisible you come to me
..quietly
Stay beside me
Whisper to me “Here I am”
And the loneliness fades

Some people think I’m somethin’
Well you gave me that, I know
But I always feel like nothing
When I’m in the dark alone

You provide the soul, the spark that drives me on
Makes me something more than flesh and bone

At times like these
Any fool can see
Any fool can see
Your love inside me

All these years
Truth In front of my eyes
While I denied
What my heart knows was right

At times like these
Any fool can see
Any fool can see
Your love inside me

I want to be someone
I want to be someone
I want to be someone
Who someone would want to be
Someone would want to be

Wendy
Darling
In the kitchen
With your dreams

Will you fly
again
Take to the sky
again

Undo the hooks
Once and for all
Banish the tic tic tic tok tok tok
Again

Will you be
Yourself for me
Cause I can take it
I can stand
Anything

When you’re with me
I can stand it
I can stand

But when you’re gone
I never land
In Neverland

Want to be someone someone would want to be
someone someone would want to be
someone someone would want to be
someone someone someone someone

Any fool
Any fool can see
Any fool can see
Your love
Inside me

“Nothing to lose is nothing to fight over The shining stars! They’ve seen it all before…Marillion “Marbles”

Don’t Hurt Yourself – Marillion (2004) FLAC Audio 1080p Video ~MetalGuruMessiah~

“Don’t Hurt Yourself” was released in 2004 on Marillion’s 13th studio album, Marbles.

Marillion is another one of those few remaining favorite bands of mine that I’d not yet made a video for even a single song! As much as I love their older stuff (and all their stuff up until their very latest album is amazing), Marbles is my very favorite album they have released. I have been working on a couple of the more epic tracks, but those vids are taking more time…so, here’s a quick edit for another of my favorites from the album worked up with the studio track over footage from a live performance. The sync’s not great (it was kinda tricky to start with and i didn’t really spend much time trying) but I think it will serve the purpose to maybe give a taste of this band to some unfamiliar with their work…and not completely horrify long-time fans! 😉
Marbles, unlike their previous studio album, Anoraknophobia (2001), which was financed largely by a preorder campaign, it was the publicity campaign that fans financed for the album. Those fans who pre-ordered the album received an exclusive 2-CD “Deluxe Campaign Edition” with a booklet containing the names of everyone who pre-ordered before a certain date. The public release date of the retail single-CD version of the album was 3 May 2004 while a plain 2CD version could still be obtained from the band’s website. A limited (500 copy) edition was released on white multicoloured vinyl by Racket Records on 13 November 2006.

The album did not chart in the UK, due to it being packaged with a couple of stickers, which is against chart rules, so despite selling enough for a top 30 position, the album was declared ineligible for the album chart, however its first single “You’re Gone” reached #7 in the UK Singles Chart, thus becoming their first UK top ten hit since 1987’s “Incommunicado”. The follow-up single “Don’t Hurt Yourself” peaked at #16. Classic Rock ranked Marbles #11 on their end-of-year list for 2004.

[Lyrics]
There’ll come a time when all of this is over
Something else will grow and take it’s place
The brand new car: scrap metal in a junkyard
The children playing will grow up and leave home
Put it away this dream you can’t stop dreaming
Put it away this anger and desire
The open road is infinitely hopeful
Take all those memories and throw them in the fire

And don’t hurt yourself
Don’t hurt yourself
Don’t hurt yourself anymore

There’s old man on a warm and sunny island
No job, no money, just a smile to call his own
Know what he says?
“The past will only haunt you.
Live for today. Each day’s an open door

Don’t hurt yourself
Don’t hurt yourself
Don’t hurt yourself anymore”

Nothing to lose is nothing to fight over
The shining stars!
They’ve seen it all before.

Don’t hurt yourself
Don’t hurt yourself
Don’t hurt yourself anymore

Dust keeps coming. Rust keeps coming. Weeds keep growing. Seeds keep growing
Where you going?

Entangled – Genesis (1976) 2007 SACD Remastered FLAC HD 1080p

“Entangled” was released on Genesis’ seventh studio album, A Trick Of The Tail, in February 1978.

A Trick Of The Tail was the first album to feature drummer Phil Collins as lead vocalist, following Peter Gabriel’s departure.

Back in the day when these 3 records were current, it was sacrilege in some circles to state a preference for the post-Gabriel Genesis (still is in some of those circles!), however I’m proud to say that I’ve always been among those rabid fans of this mid-period sting of albums starting with early 1976’s A Trick Of The Tail, late 1976’s Wind And Wuthering, and 1978’s …And Then There Were Three. I believe they produced some of the most beautiful progressive music by any band ever during this period….of course I still listen to both early period and later period work by the band, but none of it comes close to the stuff they did in the mid to late 70’s. I think I’ve mentioned it before on some of my Genesis videos but it bears repeating… ***If you are as much a fan of this music as I am, and if you want to experience something mindblowingly beautiful….this music enveloping you in sound like you’ve never experienced it before ….buy a DVDA – SACD player and listen to it in 5.1…..one word; OMG! 😉

This is the seventh video I’ve made for a Genesis song (and the second for a track from A Trick of the Tail (link to “Ripples” and other Genesis videos below). I was mostly finished with “Mad Man Moon” (coming soon) and during editing I ended up with some effects that needed to go, and which I thought I’d use for a foundation for “Entangled” (mainly the clip of the kayak guy which I thought was a nice match to the rhythm and feel of the song). The image of the row houses is something I originally worked on for BOC’s “Morning Final” and then used heavily in The Waterboys’ “Old England”….THEN held up on finishing those videos when I realized the image would work PERFECTLY with that little ditty from Wind and Wuthering (can you guess which one? LOL!)…..now after holding on to the image for years to make the impact I hoped for….I end up using it in “Entangled”? LOL! Hint: you will see it featured again! 😉

Hope you enjoy the effort!

As usual HUGE THANKS to everyone who’s art made this new art possible…THANK YOU!!!!!

When you’re asleep they may show you
Aerial views of the ground
Freudian slumber empty of sound

Over the rooftops and houses
Lost as it tries to be seen
Fields of incentive covered with green

Mesmerized children are playing
Meant to be seen but not heard
Stop me from dreaming, don’t be absurd, absurd

Well, if we can help you we will
You’re looking tired and ill
As I count backwards
Your eyes become heavier still

Sleep, won’t you allow yourself fall?
Nothing can hurt you at all
With your consent
We can experiment further still

Madrigal music is playing
Voices can faintly be heard
Please leave this patient undisturbed

Sentenced to drift far away now
Nothing is quite what it seems
Sometimes entangled in your own dreams, in your dreams

Well, if we can help you we will
Soon as you’re tired and ill
With your consent
We can experiment further still

Well, thanks to our kindness and skill
You’ll have no trouble until
You catch your breath
And the nurse will present you the bill

The lady we all know…..”Stairway To Heaven” (1971)

Stairway To Heaven – Led Zeppelin (1971) HQ 2014 Audio Remaster HD Video

“Stairway To Heaven” was released on Led Zeppelin’s fourth studio album, Led Zeppelin IV (also known as the Four Symbols, The Fourth Album, Untitled, Runes, The Hermit, and ZoSo) in the winter of 1971.

What is there to be said about “Stairway To Heaven”? Suffice it to say it’s maybe the most popular classic rock song of all time….the cornerstone of classic rock. This video features the 2014 Deluxe Edition Remaster uploaded in lossless audio….you need to listen to it in HD to get not only the best picture, but the best sound.

I finished my first Led Zeppelin video a few months back, but it’s still not available to be played….it’s a bummer ’cause I think that video is pretty good and I’d love to share it. Finally gave up waiting for that one, and decided to make another….this time for another Led Zeppelin warhorse. Was able to push this one over the line since the weather during my time off from work hasn’t been cooperating. The video isn’t quite right as the fast edits towards the end are a bit muddled, but it was one of those sections where I throw so much in that it’s difficult to get timing right and many renders fail to pick up all the components during these type sections. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the effort…..THANKS AS ALWAYS FOR WATCHING!

As always HUGE THANKS to everyone who’s art contributed to this new art….THANK YOU!!!!

Special thanks to:
Johann Mynhardt – Commercials / film Director (amazing songbird clip!) that I’ve featured in a couple/three vids!

There’s a lady who’s sure all that glitters is gold
And she’s buying a stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and she’s buying a stairway to heaven.

There’s a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
‘Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.
In a tree by the brook, there’s a songbird who sings,
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.

Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it makes me wonder.

There’s a feeling I get when I look to the west,
And my spirit is crying for leaving.
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees,
And the voices of those who stand looking.

Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it really makes me wonder.

And it’s whispered that soon, if we all call the tune,
Then the piper will lead us to reason.
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long,
And the forests will echo with laughter.

If there’s a bustle in your hedgerow, don’t be alarmed now,
It’s just a spring clean for the May queen.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There’s still time to change the road you’re on.
And it makes me wonder.

Your head is humming and it won’t go, in case you don’t know,
The piper’s calling you to join him,
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow, and did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind?

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul.
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold.
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last.
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll.

And she’s buying a stairway to heaven.

It sure felt good for a while

For Awhile – Tony Banks (1979) HQ Audio Remaster HD Video

“For Awhile” was released in the fall of 1979 on Tony Banks’ debut solo album, A Curious Feeling. I was big into Genesis during the mid-late 70’s and picked up this record immediately upon it’s release as I always thought Tony Banks was played some of the most beautiful keyboard I’d ever heard. I was not disappointed and found the album very enjoyable….”For Awhile” is a really beautiful tune….I love it still….hope the vid finds it a few new fans….and that those familiar with it find it a new enjoyable presentation.

As usual HUGE THANKS to everyone who’s art made this new art possible….THANK YOU!!! and THANK YOU for watching and supporting the vids. Please give it a comment and like if would….it’s such a drag to make videos to compete with “videos” that are really just an album cover set to music! 😉

I feel it leading me
Away to I don’t know where
I might be back someday
But the people and things will change
And no one will remember me then

Don’t need no sympathy
For soon I’ll forget everything
I feel it fading now
And I see in the eyes of my love
Tears for how it might have been

It sure felt good for a while
Yes, it was good for a while
I found somebody to take my hand
To the promised land of the loved

Now as the night draws in
A dark with no promise of dawn
I feel my eyes grow dim
As I see in the eyes of my love
Tears for how it might have been

It sure felt good for a while
Yes, it was good for a while
I found somebody to take my hand
To the promised land of the loved

Yes, it was good for a while
It sure felt good for a while
I found somebody to take my hand
To the promised land of the loved
